he 2026 Library of Congress National Book Festival takes place in Washington D.C. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Saturday August 22, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. It’s free and open to the public. But tickets are required.
This Year’s Theme Is
America 250: It’s Your Story,
Commemorating This Significant
Anniversary Of Our Country

If you can’t attend in person, never fear, experience the LOC’s National Book Festival online. There are plenty of programs and activities available before (beginning Aug 21), during, and continuing after the Festival.

This year’s festival features speakers Artemis II Commander Reis Wiseman, Kate McKinnon, Thriller writer Karin Slaughter, Historians Douglas Brinkley and Annette Gordon-Reed, Filmmaker Martin Scorsese, and Comics Legend Frank Miller. You can find their schedule here.
The Library of Congress is an amazing place, one you might not have thought of for personal use.
